    How do you say plaquenil

So far I have no more energy than when I first started and has developed neuropathy which I have just found out from Web MD that this neuropathy is one of the side effects of this med! Saying that by stopping this it would take another 6 months to build up the benefit. There are other meds that can help with what you are experiencing, and if your doctor didn't address that then I would seek out a second opinion... Please don't stop your plaquenil until you are sure it is the right thing to do and in your best interest.

Plaquenil is effective for Lupus patients, as well as people with UCTD described to me by a rheumatologist as "Lupus-like" or "Lupus-lite" or "mild Lupus". So it's very possible to be on Plaquenil without having a formal Lupus diagnosis. To get a Lupus diganosis you need to have 4 or more of 11 Lupus criteria, within a 5 year period. Plaquenil can make you completely blind! *Legitimate looking vitamins I take to help remediate it I took Plaquenil for over 13 years and it caused me and 6 in every 1000 patients, new research shows to have toxic maculopathy it caused. *re even if you quit taking the drug, it can continue to damage the eye until blindness occurs. Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil is considered a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug DMARD. It can decrease the pain and swelling of arthritis. It may prevent joint damage and reduce the risk of long-term disability. Hydroxychloroquine is in a class of medications that was first used to prevent and treat malaria.

Plaquenil is a 6-weeker as far as the benefits are concerned, but it would be more dangerous to stop if you spend a lot of time outside and if this were the summer. Or maybe another doctor if you're not comfortable w/your current one.

Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine belongs to a group of medicines called quinolines. Plaquenil is used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites that enter the body through the bite of a mosquito. Malaria is common in areas such as Africa, South America, and Southern Asia. If you really need to get off it, I would taper down slowly, very slowly. I do go for intense eye examinations every 6 months to see if there is a difference in my eyesight from my base examine. I do have SJS also.
